Job Summary

TalentWise LLC is building a pipeline of accounting support professionals to support anticipated government contract awards with Arlington County, VA.

The Accounting Technician I provides paraprofessional accounting and administrative support for financial and payroll operations. This role assists with account maintenance, transaction processing, reporting, and coordination of accounting or payroll activities within established systems and procedures.

The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping, supporting purchasing and payroll processes, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy of financial records and transactions 
  • Classify and process accounting transactions, including revenues and expenditures 
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, statements, and supporting documentation 
  • Support purchasing processes, including purchase orders, vendor coordination, and contract tracking 
  • Monitor account balances and assist with budget tracking and projections 
  • Process payroll-related transactions and maintain payroll systems and records 
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in financial and payroll data 
  • Coordinate with vendors, staff, and external agencies to ensure proper processing and compliance 
  • Assist with collection activities and tracking of outstanding or delinquent funds 
  • Maintain databases and tracking systems for financial or payroll data 
  • Provide general administrative and customer support related to accounting and payroll functions 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required 
  • Some experience in accounting support, bookkeeping, payroll, or administrative financial work 
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes 
  • Proficiency with computer systems and standard office or financial software 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow established procedures 
  • Ability to analyze and resolve routine financial or administrative issues
