Job Summary

TalentWise LLC is building a pipeline of advanced transportation systems professionals to support anticipated government contract awards with Arlington County, VA.

The ITS Systems Analyst performs advanced technical work supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), including configuration, operation, and maintenance of traffic management systems and field equipment such as traffic signal controllers, pedestrian systems, and detection technologies.

This role operates independently and works closely with engineers, network analysts, and field staff to ensure reliable traffic system performance, accurate signal timing, and compliance with operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot advanced traffic management systems and signal operations 
  • Develop and maintain traffic signal timing plans and system databases 
  • Program and adjust traffic signal controllers, detection systems, and pedestrian devices 
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to signal timing, detection systems, and field equipment 
  • Coordinate with network teams to ensure proper system connectivity and communications 
  • Review technical specifications and ensure compliance with County and state standards 
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff and contractors 
  • Inspect and evaluate contractor work for quality and compliance 
  • Support installation, configuration, and testing of ITS equipment 
  • Maintain asset management records, documentation, and inventory data 
  • Assist with procurement processes, including requisitions, purchase orders, and vendor coordination 
  • Coordinate with external agencies (e.g., transportation authorities, utilities) on system operations 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or related field 
  • Experience in ITS systems, traffic signal operations, or related technical field 
  • Knowledge of traffic signal systems, detection technologies, and control systems 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and communication systems 
  • Familiarity with system databases and configuration tools 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently in field and technical environments 
  • Strong communication and coordination skills 
  • Valid driver’s license as required
